Why are we different?
The Burlingame Villa concept was founded in 1988 by Wilma Cimino and her family in response to an increased need in the community for quality care. Their vision was a home for the elderly that blends dignified living, with the flavor of Old World hospitality.

Mrs. Cimino, founder of Burlingame Villa believes the residents are top priority which is visible in the environment, surroundings, and atmosphere. "We view the facility as the resident's home, and we are "guests" for the purpose of meeting their needs and providing them comfort", she concludes.

Throughout the years, Burlingame Villa has maintained an unsurpassed reputation for quality elder care in the senior community and is praised by health care professionals.

"Our community is fortunate to have a facility like Burlingame Villa. It's a place where individuals with Alzheimer's and other memory disorders can still enjoy a quality of life."
-Michael McCloud, M.D., FACP

Our Philosophy
We pride ourselves in providing individualized quality care to our residents, respecting each person's individuality and special needs.

We hold ourselves to the highest standards, and believe strongly in the core ingredients that go into quality dementia care.

Among these standards are encouraging our residents' continued independence. Our dedicated staff caters to each individual, showing compassion and patience in order to provide the best for each resident.

Another key element in our residents' quality of life is promoting socialization. Whether through group activities or the personal guidance of a caregiver's presence, residents gain a renewed sense of purpose from meaningful social interactions.

The modest number of residents in our facility allows us to devote even more attention to each individual. Our low caregiver to resident ratio serves to provide prompt response and attention to our residents needs.

Continuing education and training for the staff is another important part of quality senior care. Updates on new developments in dementia care as well as reviewing caregiving strategies is very beneficial to the staff, not to mention the residents they care for.

Above all, we believe our residents come first. At Burlingame Villa our purpose is to ensure that our residents enjoy the highest quality of life possible.
