A non-profit, religious-based corporation, Mercy Medical owns and operates Portier Place. The Board of Trustees oversees all operations of Mercy Medical, including Portier Place. LIFECARE
An impressive advantage of living at Portier Place is Mercy Medical's commitment to provide opportunities to maximize the wellness and independence of its residents. This commitment also addresses the needs of the Portier Place residents who may in the future need extended healthcare services. Residents are provided access to the broad spectrum of programs and services offered through Mercy Medical's integrated system of healthcare services at the same monthly rate they would pay as a resident at Portier Place, excluding ancillary charges. Mercy Medical will also assist residents in arranging for needed extended healthcare services outside those provided through Mercy Medical. With this lifecare commitment, Portier Place assures comfort, security and peace of mind.
Portier Place will assist in arranging for ancillary healthcare services for its residents. Physician-ordered services such as home health, physical therapy, occupational therapy, respiratory therapy, ambulance services; limited pharmacy services and laboratory tests are available at additional costs. Each resident will be requested to designate a licensed physician as his personal physician and will be responsible for the cost of those physician services.
The Gulf Coast boasts many quality acutecare hospital facilities. Where you are hospitalized, if necessary, will depend on your personal physician. The three major hospitals in the city of Mobile are within 10 to 20 minutes of Portier Place.
ACTIVITIES
Portier Place provides many desired, yet flexible services that enhance freedom and independence. Cultural, social and intellectual opportunities are plentiful in the city of Mobile, and in-house activities are also held monthly.
Portier Place has a resident council which meets quarterly. The council provides ongoing communication with management.
SERVICES AND AMENITIES
In addition to the standard services provided by the monthly service fee, residents may add guest meals, special catering, additional maid services beyond the standard weekly plan, cable TV, telephone service, beauty and barber services and personal transportation.
